Vetobac Antimicrobial Copper Alloy Touch Surfaces

installed at Lincolnshire Hospital

Boston Hospital Installation

Brass Age have just completed an installation of VETOBAC antimicrobial copper alloy products in the Bostonian wing of the Pilgrim Hospital in Boston Lincolnshire. The project has been privately funded by Mr Michael Oko, ENT Surgeon specialising in sleep disorders, who can clearly see the benefits of the use of antimicrobial copper alloys on the touch surfaces in the healthcare environment.

VETOBAC antimicrobial copper alloys were used on a whole range of touch surfaces including bed rails, grab rails, electrical sockets and switches, cabinet handles, chair arms, taps and corridor handrails. The products have continuous and inherent antimicrobial action and have been proven to reduce the risk of hospital acquired infections by 58%. The resultant cost savings are enormous, providing payback on the installation in as little as 3 months. Antimicrobial copper has proven efficacy against a broad range of pathogens including MRSA and VRE. The antimicrobial mechanism that the metal uses means that there is no way that pathogens can develop immunity or resistance to it’s deadly action. Get on to our VETOBAC website here to learn more about the enormous benefits of using antimicrobial copper alloy products.
